A beautiful, blooming garden full of fruits and vegetables catches Mrs.
McGee's eye one day while taking a walk, "Whose garden is it?" she asks
of the colorful display. Her question renders many rhyming answers from
the gardener, who says it is his, to the seeds in the ground, who claim
to have started it all. Every animal and plant in the garden give a
claim to its ownership, even the rain: '"Nothing lives without me! That
is perfectly plain! My showers bring flowers. It's mine!" cried the
rain.' Hoberman offers young readers the chance to find the answer
themselves, or perhaps continue wondering and pondering. Hardcover, 32
pages. Ages 3-7. HB-6312
