Flora and Ralph, two little bugs, are out picking beans for dinner when
Flora goes to pick their thirteenth bean. "Don't do it!" shouts Ralph -
insisting that thirteen is an unlucky number. Flora picks it anyway and
splits the beans into two equal piles but there is one left over – “the
unlucky bean thirteen!” Ralph insists. Flora invites some friends over,
but even in three equal piles, four, even five equal piles - there is
still one left over! Will Flora and Ralph ever figure out the mystery of
bean thirteen? A great story for practicing math! Hardcover, 32 pages.
